• With individual assessment

The study process
The College provides self-study materials. These are clearly set out to allow you to progress step by step. One person is appointed leader of the group.
Students work in a local group with a minimum of three people. Members of the group enrol together.

Assessment
Assessment is based on completing the tasks in the workbook. There are no essays or exams.

Those students who are seeking further details about topics in this stream should refer to the free Discover Booklet, or contact the national office directly.

The DEEPEN Stream

Higher Education Sector Accreditation

Continuing Education for Ministers and Others

Available for BMin, BTh, and Higher Degree Students

Coursework and Research through to PhD

The Deepen [Higher Education] Stream is for those who seek critical understanding at the cutting edge of learning. These topics can help people see Christian faith at depth, journey into the heart of spirituality and discipleship, sharpen existing leadership skills or learn new ones, and take up exciting challenges in ministry. Yet the intention goes beyond those who see themselves as practising Christians.
For anyone new to theological issues, these topics open the way to serious and disciplined study on critical questions of life, meaning, tradition, and renewed purpose. Such questions inform the learning not only in Theology topics, but also in the areas of Biblical Studies, Church History, and various applications of practical ministry.
Professional development is now an expectation in most workplaces. The Deepen Stream offers those already in ministry, ordained or lay, the chance to undertake further theological study at the highest standards of tertiary education. There are several options for Degree and Postgraduate programmes which make this Stream ideally suited for Ministers and other church leaders pursuing formal Continuing Education within the Uniting Church in Australia.
